Teachers themselves can participate in a write-in by working individually or with other members of their team, department, or institution. They can draw from the ideas above or develop their own. What’s important is that participants find a way to make writing meaningful for them and their particular audience.
Identify issues that matter in a local or national context
Identify an issue in your school, program, department, or institution that is meaningful to you by:
- Navigating to the NCTE Policy Analysis Initiative Webpage.
- Exploring the Ballotpedia page on Educational Policy.
- Visiting the webpage for your local School Board, locating it by a google search. The agendas and minutes for school boards will document the key issues that those groups are making decisions about for local schools.
