Episode 25 – Gretchen Rubin

December 14, 2017

I wanted to end 2017 on a happy note here at the Why I Write podcast, so who better to have as a guest than the author of The Happiness Project, Gretchen Rubin?

Gretchen is one of today’s most influential and thought-provoking observers of happiness and human nature. She’s the author of many books, including the blockbuster New York Times bestsellers The Four Tendencies, Better Than Before, and The Happiness Project.

We had a lot of fun chatting about her books, the writing process, and how much she loves children’s literature. You’ll have to listen to find out what book she was shocked to hear I haven’t read!

Gretchen has an enormous readership, both in print and online, and her books have sold almost three million copies worldwide, in more than thirty languages.

How many authors do you know who can say they’ve been interviewed by Oprah, walked arm-in-arm with the Dalai Lama, and have been an answer on the game show Jeopardy?

Gretchen is also the co-host of the award-winning podcast “Happier with Gretchen Rubin,” where she discusses happiness and good habits. Give it a listen after you finish this episode.

Her latest venture takes the teachings of her latest book The Four Tendencies and helps you put them into practice in your daily life through her free app Better.

I hope you all have a happy and safe holiday season.
